Composition shingles are the most common roofing material used for residential roofing applications. Aesthetically pleasing, composition roofs are also known as asphalt or fiberglass shingles. Easy to install, relatively affordable and with years of longevity to their name – 20 to 50 years – composition roofs combine the best of both worlds. Composition shingles also come in a number of styles and colors. Composition roofing gives the look of real wood shakes, while providing better protection and ventilation for a longer life.

Our commercial roofing services include flat roof repair and replacement. Flat roofing is a much different project than a standard pitched roof. Since rain doesn’t run down the side of a flat roof, flat roofs require a much more effective roof covering. Metropolitan Roofing specializes in TPO and PVC flat roofs. Both materials offer a weather-resistant and waterproof seal sure to keep your commercial building dry year round.
TPO FLAT ROOFING
Thermoplastic Poly-Olefin (TPO) is a single-ply flat roofing system. It is the fastest growing flat roofing product on the market today. This roofing material can be fully adhered, mechanically fastened, or ballasted. TPO seams are reported to be three to four times stronger than EPDM roofing systems and are highly resistant to tears and punctures. This is a popular choice for green builders as there are no plasticizers added, it is 100% recyclable, and TPO does not degrade under UV radiation.
PVC FLAT ROOFING
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) membrane roofing is also known as vinyl roofing. Its heat-welded seams form a permanent, watertight bond that is stronger than the membrane itself. Vinyl roofing provides an energy-efficient option due to its inherently light coloring. While the surface of a black roof can increase temperatures of as much as 90º under the heat of the full sun, a white reflective roof typically increases only 10-25º. This reflective acrylic coating also repels dust and dirt. PVC roofs are waterproof and fireproof and last longer than alternative flat roofing options.
